175 MORE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED FOR ELM CITY RESIDENT CARD
(7/25/2007) NEW HAVEN- The new Office of New Haven Residents reported accepting 175 applications today for the Elm City Resident Card, a municipal identification for all residents of New Haven. While over nearly 200 Residents lined up in City Hall today, some of them were turned away for not supplying proper documentation validating their identities or their residency in the City. The office remained open until 3 pm to ensure no who arrived before 2pm was turned away. Normal operating hours are 9am until 2pm.
In an effort to accommodate the hundreds of residents who have expressed interest in applying for an Elm City Resident Card this week, the office will adopt temporary extended hours as follows:
Thursday, July 26 9am until 7pm
Friday, July 27 9am until 6pm
Extended hours are for this week only.
In order to be eligible for Elm City Resident Cards applicants must show proof of identity (passport, driver’s license, birth certificate, etc…) and demonstrate that they are residents of New Haven. To prove residency, applicants must who a utility bill, lease agreement, rent receipt or other similar documents.
